The sedimentation tub is the first step in the material washing technology. Subsequently the material is washed in a brush or air washer, depending on the type of the material washed. The advantages of the sedimentation tub include the friendly pre-treatment of the material that is filled into a tank with a large volume of water. As the material passes through the water bath, gross impurities and soil will be washed from the material surface. With the use of a sedimentation tub, the entire washing process gives better and more even results, because the material is fed in intervals but the output is continuous.
The device is compact and consists of a tub, a discharge conveyor, and a water circulation circuit. Water circulates thanks to a pump delivering the water from an overflow tank to the jets in the rear part of the sedimentation tank. The overflow tank is equipped with sieves to capture floating impurities. The jets are adjustable, so that the water flow can lead to an optimum point, depending on the material washed. Adjustable jets generate water pressure to wash the floating material and carry it in the direction of the output conveyor. The conveyor is equipped with a modular belt with carriers. The tub has a double bottom. The upper bottom consists of a lifting frame with a perforated sheet with adjustable height. The inclination angle is selected based on the type of non-floating material. The discharge conveyor is driven by a worm gear with an electric motor located on the drive shaft of the upper run (check section). The sedimentation tub is fitted with a hopper at the output of the discharge conveyor. The hopper is designed for connection to the PVM 800 air washer or the PK 800 brush washer.
The device is made of stainless steel structure (quality according to DIN 1.4301), including the connecting material of quality A2 and plastic components. All materials used have been certified for direct contact with food.
